There are ways to take your corset from staying in to going out, and even to the board room, and across this two part series, I’ll show you how to do just that.

Looking for a way to dress up a pair of jeans for a night out? Pair a jacquard butterfly print with a pair of dark jeans and stilettos and you’re set for a night on the town. You might have to beat the boys back with a stick. 

And if you’re more interested in staying in on Saturday night, get a little flirty. Chantilly lace, ribbons and a ruffled skirt are designed to
tease. Add a lacy G-string and sheer black  stockings for a double dose of sweet heat on a summer night.

Looking to pull some elegance into the evening? Try a jewelled satin corset that will show off your sophistication. Layer it
over a tailored taffeta skirt and you’ll the star of the evening.

If you’re not into the super- elegant look, try a more zen look with a brightly colored corset and a ghagra—a long, flowing Indian skirt—for a trendy Eastern vibe.

Finally, for this entry anyway, go for a sensual vibe with a  breakaway zipper front lets you be as daring—or demure—as you like.

Pair it with a sleek pencil skirt for a sophisticated, yet sleek look. Throw a black jacket over top and you’ve got a look you can take to work!

That’s the question that has just been answered. Charlize Theron’s Corset Creation has been sold for a record high amount at Frederick’s of Hollywood’s Lingerie Art Auction. The satin and beaded corset sold for $18,000.

More than 100 celebrities helped raise funds at the auction, which benefited the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. Other corsets were designed by Nicole Kidman, Jessica Alba, Tea Leoni, Sandra Bernhard and Julianne Moore.

“It is thrilling for Frederick’s to be part of such a creative and worthwhile event,” said Linda LoRe, president and CEO, Frederick’s of Hollywood. Each year, we look forward to collaborating with Hollywood’s biggest names to create pieces of wearable art for a great cause.”

Additionally, eight corsets were sold via a silent auction during the course of the event. Celebrities such as Kiera Knightley, Susan Sarandon, Reese Witherspoon and Sela Ward lent their designs to the cause. Ms. Ward’s handmade corset brought approximately $2,000.

Some of the corset hightlights include:

* Tea Leoni’s design includes a detailed 3-page sketch, outlining the precise details for development.

* Tori Amos’ “Midsummer’s Night Dream” corset was personally crafted by the singer. Her corset is accompanied by a story she wrote that explains each element of her design.

* Racing enthusiast Patrick Dempsey decorated his corset with patches and checkered-flag ribbon.

This corset caught my eye because it was over the bust and therefor could be worn as part of your outfit - yes, for all to see.

You can wear it as lingerie under your clothes, but make sure the clothes don’t cling too tight if you don’t want the ribbing to show.

Brazilia underwire padded merry widow with clear detachable straps

This embroidered and lace-finished basque highlights curves and enhances lines. It has detachable suspenders, while moulded cups and light padding give support.

The cup size of the bra is very suitable for plus-size women, and the panties are demure without being too small and uncomfortable. The lines of the basque which go straight down really add a slimming effect. Great find. Ivory only.
