Shirley of Hollywood is one of the lingerie industry’s biggest players and man do they make some HOT stuff. I just got my first corset, and I’ve never felt anything so…cool! It’s constricting, but it’s also posture training if that makes sense. You’ve got no choice but to sit and stand straight up.

Influenced by my new corset love, I thought I’d bring you the top 10 ways to wear a corset, rather than just in the bedroom, because if you’re going to go to this much trouble to get into the thing, then you may as well flaunt it.

There are ways to take your corset from staying in to going out, and even to the board room, and across this two part series, I’ll show you how to do just that.

Looking for a way to dress up a pair of jeans for a night out? Pair a jacquard butterfly print with a pair of dark jeans and stilettos and you’re set for a night on the town. You might have to beat the boys back with a stick. 

And if you’re more interested in staying in on Saturday night, get a little flirty. Chantilly lace, ribbons and a ruffled skirt are designed to
tease. Add a lacy G-string and sheer black  stockings for a double dose of sweet heat on a summer night.

Looking to pull some elegance into the evening? Try a jewelled satin corset that will show off your sophistication. Layer it
over a tailored taffeta skirt and you’ll the star of the evening.

If you’re not into the super- elegant look, try a more zen look with a brightly colored corset and a ghagra—a long, flowing Indian skirt—for a trendy Eastern vibe.

Finally, for this entry anyway, go for a sensual vibe with a  breakaway zipper front lets you be as daring—or demure—as you like.

Pair it with a sleek pencil skirt for a sophisticated, yet sleek look. Throw a black jacket over top and you’ve got a look you can take to work!

Carrie Bradshaw makes a stylish return to the big screen this month for the much anticipated Sex and the City movie. You probably can’t afford half of what she wears in the film, but you can get in on some of the deals!

The "We’re on a Break" Romper by The Lake & Stars label was chosen by Sarah Jessica Parker for how great it looks with jeans. It’s one of her favorites from the film. With small tank tops, the last thing you want to see is a bra strap. Really. Raceback tank tops like this one are a staple in my wardrobe. Must have about 15 of them. But there is nothing more unattractive than seeing the bra strap cut right down the shoulder. Plus, it makes for a horrid tan line. So, I use the Bubbles Strapper Bra Adjuster to turn my favorite bra into a convertible bra – because I’ve yet to find a convertible bra as comfortable as my regular one!

The top is a band, the bottom more like pantyhose. You position it under the toosh for a little oomph in the rear.

This Crochet racerback Bra Top from Victoria’s Secret is very sexy

The sexy basic gets spicy with crochet detail. Hidden shelf bralette for support with no show-through. Crochet trim.

It’s also one of the bra tops on sale right now, so that’s a good incentive. It’s regularly $32, on sale on it’s own for $25, but $20 if you buy two tops. Phew.

Sports bras. Ah, could totally make me go bonkers. I have absolutely never found one that worked for me. Oh well.

Anyway, an UK sports bra company called Shock Absorber has come up with a bouncing breast simulator. Yep, you get to watch boobies jiggle. hehe.

Plug in a cup-size and a level of activity, and it produces a 3D animation of breasts of that size bouncing free, bouncing in a regular bra, and hardly moving at all in one of their sports-bras. Extra geeky bonus points for including a 3D wireframe view, so you can see the pure physics of the jiggle.

Wohoo, I have some new lingerie. The kind folks at Yandy Lingerie offered to have me review a product and I picked out the Babydoll with Faux Pearl Strap and Thong.

I figured that since I’m getting married in 30 days I should go for something in their bridal lingerie. I chose this babydoll because it was oh so cute. 

Well, I was quite pleased when it arrived. The picture really didn’t do it justice!

First, it came way faster than I expected! Second, it’s of a good quality – the material feels nice and it is built without flaws. It’s hard to see the pearls on the straps but they are really nice. They add this extra glamour to the outfit. I’m particularly fond of the babydoll because it has a built in underwire system, which is great for that extra oomph, you know?

I think the outfit is very sexy – and so does my fiance – it flows so nicely! I am not the biggest fan of thongs, but I will admit that the outfit looks great with the thong.

Spanx are great for any butt. Really great.

I have stuff similar to Spanx, since in Canada it can be hard to find in department stores (I like to try things on). However, I do know that the seamlessness and comfort of this shapewear can’t be beat.
