Shapewear. A whole complex category of lingerie to minimize various aspects from thigh right up to breast. Not an easy article of clothing to purchase, to say the least. You need to know what spots you want to minimize. What you’ll wear it for, and how often.

I bought something very similar to the above for a wedding recently where I knew I’d be wearing a tight silk dress. I decided on what looks like a high waist since it would go right up to below my bra, and therefore not just shift my problem areas around. It worked out really well. I was firm, curved and looked great.

Here is what I didn’t like: it’s tight, and there was no “out” in the crotch, so you had to take it off to use the ladies room. It’s tight, and hard to get back on when you’re in the ladies room. Unless you pull it up really high, you’re in for a backache as it will hit you too low. Be prepared to ask for some friendly hands to yank it up.

Here are some thoughts:

It’s always good to buy nude if you only want one - that way it is never visible, no matter what you wear.

If you think you might wear something strapless, don’t get the full body suit, or at least look for a strapless version.

Make sure it has no visible bumps or seams if you wear something tight or silky.

Make sure it doesn’t just push up any problem fat areas to an unexpected other area of your body!
