Corsets & Bustiers, Lingerie, New Styles
Shirley of Hollywood is one of the lingerie industry’s biggest players and man do they make some HOT stuff. I just got my first corset, and I’ve never felt anything so…cool! It’s constricting, but it’s also posture training if that makes sense. You’ve got no choice but to sit and stand straight up.
Influenced by my new corset love, I thought I’d bring you the top 10 ways
to wear a corset, rather than just in the bedroom, because if you’re going to go to this much trouble to get into the thing, then you may as well flaunt it.
There are ways to take your corset from staying in to going out, and even to the board room, and across this two part series, I’ll show you how to do just that.
Looking for a way to dress up a pair of jeans for a night out? Pair a jacquard butterfly print with a pair of dark jeans and stilettos and you’re set for a night on the town. You might have to beat the boys back with a stick.
And if you’re more interested in staying in on Saturday night, get a little flirty. Chantilly lace, ribbons and a ruffled skirt are designed to
tease. Add a lacy G-string and sheer black stockings for a double dose of sweet heat on a
summer night.
Looking to pull some elegance into the evening? Try a jewelled satin corset that will show off your sophistication. Layer it
over a tailored taffeta skirt and you’ll the star
of the evening.
If you’re not into the super- elegant look, try a more zen look with a brightly colored corset and a ghagra—a long, flowing Indian skirt—for a trendy Eastern vibe.

Finally, for this entry anyway, go for a sensual vibe with a breakaway zipper front lets you be as daring—or demure—as you like.
Pair it with a sleek pencil skirt for a sophisticated, yet sleek look. Throw a black jacket over top and you’ve got a look you can take to work!

It always sucks. But, with these tips from Cyla Weiner, your experience should at least not be too horrible…. “One thing that is consistent is that women hate shopping for swimsuits. People always scrutinize their own bodies,” Weiner says.
Help exists as swimsuit designers create swimwear with different body types in mind and Weiner says the perfect suit does exist. When shopping for a “must have” summer wardrobe essential, Weiner provides the following helpful hints:
1. FULL BUST—Don’t despair ladies there are many suits, both one piece and two piece styles, that come in D-F cups. These suits provide support and coverage and are very much in fashion. Vendors have come to realize that there are many full busted gals out there who want great looking suits that provide support and are attractive. You can find them with and without wires and with tummy control if you desire.
2. TUMMY HIDER—If you want to camouflage your tummy look for a suit that flatters and firms. Shirring, color blocking, asymmetrical patterns and surplice suits are good to take control of the mid-section. This season’s monokini is another choice that can provide a slimming illusion with a sexy appearance.
3. LARGE THIGHS—Find a suit that takes the eye away from that area. Skirted tankinis are a great option, as are swimdress suits or boy short suits (jogger style).
4. HIP PROBLEMS—Here you need to find a suit that flatters the leg. You should look for a suit that is cut up higher on the leg because it makes your hips look smaller. Dark bottoms are good. Also try to find a suit that has interest across the top to take your eye away from the hip area.
5. LONG TORSO—Suits are available in long lengths. Tankinis and two piece suits are great for long torsos too. Emphasis at the waist deemphasizes the length of the torso.
6. SMALL BUST—Many suits are available that will provide cleavage and fullness. Look for suits that have push up cups or pads inside. Shirring across the bust is also good and embellishments on the upper area also add some fullness. Find one with ruffles or a big and busy design to add emphasis to that area.

This summer’s sexiest must-have asset is getting more attention than ever. Low cut waistlines designed to
showcase a cleavage of a different kind, backless dresses cut ‘down-to-there’, Brazillian cut swimsuits and undergarments built with a little padding to help you fill out those jeans – no matter where you turn this summer, it’s all about the booty!
Blame J.Lo’s curves or the booytlicous Beyonce – women everywhere are wondering how their backside stacks up. Even if you’re not planning to sport a thong bikini on your family vacation this summer, you won’t want to neglect this summer’s hottest accessory.
Shape Magazine’s executive style director, Jacqui Stafford dishes on all the tricks of trade the celebrities will be using this summer to make your backside look smooth, firm and ready for this summer’s hottest fashions. Some of her secrets include…
If you’ve got it, flaunt it!
- The Fanny Facial – Gaining popularity from coast to coast, it’s just like your typical facial only it’s not for your face. Renee Zellweger and Ali Larter are reported to be fans of this unique treatment that tones, de-blemishes, massages and polishes the behind.
- VelaShape – the first FDA approved non-invasive treatment to smooth cellulite and reduce the circumference of the thighs using a combination of heat, infrared light and massage. As seen on Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil, VelaShape smoothes out the lumps and bumps in only four treatments.
- Sky High Stilettos – let’s face it, those comfy ballet flats make look cute on your feet, but they do nothing for your profile. When you really want to stand out, balance on your tallest pair of Christian Louboutin’s instead. High heels not only do wonders for your derriere, but your legs will look longer, leaner and more toned
- Squats, Lunges and Thrusts – You may have it now, but if you want to keep it where it is, you better get to work. Some simple moves to keep your rear end from going from fab to flab.
Or, Fake it till you make it:
- Temporary Enhancers – Padded undergarments such as Bubble Buns Padded Boyshorts feature patent –pending removable lightweight foam pads that turns a flat profile into realistic curves.
- Brazilian Butt Lift/Butt implants – This permanent surgical procedure promises a more youthful, prominent, more perky buttocks. Fat is removed from other areas of the body and injected into the upper quadrant of the cheeks or silicone implants can be placed as well.
Either way you choose to go, remember that this summer, your hottest accessory is one you carry with you everywhere!

I have a love of fine lingerie products, neat gadgets that slim, shape, and make us look amazing, as well as the ones that make a girl feel oh so sexy that you simply can’t wait to get home and show off your newest … look.

I plan to give the site some gas, and well, set the sucker on fire. I’ve started to suss out some fun stuff to write about here, and I can’t wait to start telling you all about it!
Let me know if there’s anything that you guys are interested in seeing, and if there’s PR people who rep lingerie, swim wear, any neat gadgets, hosiery, undergarments… all that kinda stuff, please let me know! Pitch me, please.
I hope you’ll enjoy me here… I’ll certainly do my best to please.

Summer time clothes are much more revealing, and every gal could use a little help looking her best. Here are some summer essentials from Bubbles Bodywear
With small tank tops, the last thing you want to see is a bra strap. Really. Raceback tank tops like this one are a staple in my wardrobe. Must have about 15 of them. But there is nothing more unattractive than seeing the bra strap cut right down the shoulder. Plus, it makes for a horrid tan line. So, I use the Bubbles Strapper Bra Adjuster to turn my favorite bra into a convertible bra – because I’ve yet to find a convertible bra as comfortable as my regular one!

Next problem. Skirts. Too hot for pantyhose to keep yourself looking lean and mean. In come the Bubbles Butt Booster Bands – it’s like a legwarmer-style contraption you put on each thigh. The top is a band, the bottom more like pantyhose. You position it under the toosh for a little oomph in the rear.

Last issue – panty lines. If you hate g-strings like I do, you can opt for the Garment Guard for the final seamless touch:

Canada.com has a great segment for ‘undressing’ panties – i.e. understanding them. All the myriads of styles:
Full Briefs
Okay, let’s get the least sexy out of the way. Full briefs are those ugly knickers that are cut low on the leg and high on the waist. They’re the knicker equivalent of Mom-jeans and if you own a pair, you shouldn’t.
Midis / Hipsters
Much more acceptable everyday wear are midis, which are cut lower on the waist and a little higher on the leg. They give good coverage of the bum and are therefore great and comfortable for day-in, day-out wear.
Brazilians
Brazilians are midis that don’t cover the full buttock but instead cut somewhere across the middle of the bum. This can result in some sexy bum cleavage, but, on the downside, can also give you the permanent sensation that your knickers are riding up your arse.
Bikinis
Bikinis are midis, but smaller. These are even lower on the waist and are best avoided by those of us with extra curvaceous figures, since there’ll be unsightly spillage over the waistband. Bikinis look best on the skinny sisterhood.
Tanga Brief
Tanga briefs are like bikinis, but instead of a full seam on the sides, there’s a string holding the front and back together. This is über-unflattering on all but the most boyish of figures as the string will saw into your sides and create great unsightly bulging.
Thongs / G-Strings
The itsy-bitsy underwear is loved for its VPL (visible panty line) eliminating quality, but scorned for its questionable comfort levels and especially for visibility when sitting down in low-rise pants. Every girl needs one thong in her arsenal for those outfits that demand nothing less than a seam-free derriere.
Boyshorts
If you’re a girl who likes coverage but rightly hates the full brief, try a little boyshort. Cute, flirty, sexy and comfortable, boyshorts are also arguably as good at avoiding VPLs as thongs. Plus, in my meager experience, men love them, women love them AND they’re comfortable. These things rarely coincide, so take advantage when they do!
Shapewear
In all shapes and sizes, shapewear is designed with one thing in mind: Firming up those flabby bits and giving you a smooth silhouette. However, they’re far from sexy. It’s that classic Bridget Jones catch-22 of whether to wear the big knickers that will make you look better in the dress, or the hot ones that will be sexier if you end up in flagrante. Oprah claims only to ever wear Spanx, the shapewear du jour. In a perfect world, none of us would ever need a helping hand, but in reality we do and thankfully there are lots of options out there.
I’m a boyshorts kinda gal :)

To create your perfect set with the previously mentioned La Senza ITEC Bra, La Senza also has an ITEC underwear line. This underwear is also seam-free, invisible and extremely comfortable. Almost like wearing none at all. I love it! I haven’t been able to find a picture, but it also comes in 2 sexy lacy styles: a thong and a low rise bikini brief. Again though it isn’t available on the Canadian La Senza site, so you’ll have to go in store to find it in Canada, but it is available on the La Senza UK site.
